Comments

Gulf Shores, Ala. - Four Tabor College track and field athletes traveled to Gulf Shores, Alabama for the NAIA Outdoor National Championships. Austin Kurtz (FR/Meriden, KS) represented the men's team in the javelin throw. Amy Horner (JR/Artesia, NM), Alyssa Windle (FR/Luray, KS), and Aaliyah Carter (FR/Aurora, CO) competed for the women in the triple jump, shot put, and 100 meter dash respectively.

Kurtz finished 15th in the javelin with a throw of 180' 1" (54.88m). It was the second best effort of the season for the freshman.

Horner was 13th in the triple jump with a leap of 36' 7.75" (11.17m). Hers was the highest finish for the Bluejays at the meet.

Windle finished 15th in the shot put with a toss of 42' 11.5" (13.09m). She was the last qualifier for Tabor making the national meet at the Sam Williams Qualifier at Emporia State University on May 14. Windle was also a national qualifier during the Indoor season.

Carter was 26th in the 100 meters with a time of 12.40. Aaliyah broke the oldest school record in Tabor women's track earlier in the season in the 200 meters when her time of 25.22 bettered the 25-year old mark set by Keisha Morris in 1991. Carter was just off the 100 meters record of 12.01 with her season best time of 12.12.
